South Dakota State defeated Southern Utah on Saturday, 55-10, to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Jacks are off this week before they welcome Robert Morris (Pa.) into Coughlin Alumni Stadium on September 26. The South Dakota women’s basketball team defeated in-state rival South Dakota State on Saturday, 82-78. The Jackrabbits were without leading scorer Megan Waytashek (14.1ppg), who missed the game due to illness. Raeshel Contreras led USD with a career-high 32 points. The senior is averaging 24 ppg over her last three and the Coyotes have won all three of those games. She has also led the team in scoring in eight of 18 contests this season.
The Coyotes are now at the top of the Summit League with a 4-1 mark in league games and 14-4 overall.
